Are you patient, enthusiastic and passionate about helping children learn? SupplyGo are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Matlock, Belper and the wider Derbyshire area.,
- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Working with individuals, small groups or whole classes under the direction of the class teacher
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including children with additional or complex needs
- Helping pupils with reading, writing, maths and phonics
- Supporting positive behaviour and promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment
- Assisting with classroom organisation, resources and displays
- Supporting pupils' personal care, wellbeing and social development where required
- Helping supervise playtimes, lunchtimes and school trips (where applicable), If you don't already have an up-to-date enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will support you through the process.
Experience of working with children, either in a school or in a similar setting (voluntary experience considered) - A warm, reliable and flexible approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- The right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential):
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD or social, emotional and mental health needs
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics schemes
- Behaviour management training (e.g. Team Teach)
- Paediatric first aid certificate
- Your own transport, as some schools in rural areas are difficult to reach by public transport
