Supply Star Little Learners is working in partnership with an award‑winning nursery chain in Shrewsbury. They are searching for Level 3 (and above) qualified Early Years Professionals to support outstanding care and education for young children aged 0‑5 years. Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met inline with the EYFS.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support developmental milestones in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily activities in their learning folders.
  • Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety and safeguarding regulations.
  • Foster positive partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues through effective communication.

Deputy Nursery Manager

  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high‑quality care, and maintaining compliance with EYFS and Ofsted standards.
  • Assist with staff rosters, recruitment, induction, and performance management.
  • Deputise in the manager’s absence, ensuring operational continuity.
  • Ensure strict adherence to EYFS, health and safety legislation, and safeguarding policies.
  • Monitor and improve the quality of care and education, striving for “Outstanding” inspections.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, handling enquiries and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate children’s records, registers, and operational action plans.

Requirements

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable).
  • English GCSE grade C/4+ (if qualified after September 2014).
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and child‑centred approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience as Third in Charge / Senior Nursery Educator (for Deputy role).
  • Clear enhanced DBS certificate (all roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check; £63 if not on the current service).
  • Two satisfactory references.
