A nurturing and forward‑thinking early years setting in Chester, part of an award‑winning nursery chain, is seeking a passionate, proactive Deputy Nursery Manager to join their leadership team, help drive high‑quality education, and support their dedicated staff team in delivering the best possible outcomes for children.
The Role
- Operational Management: Supporting the manager in all aspects of nursery operations, including compliance with EYFS standards and Ofsted regulations.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Leading, motivating, and inspiring staff, supporting their professional development, and helping with recruitment and inductions.
- Child Care & Quality: Ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained, and acting as a lead for safeguarding and SEND.
- Partnership with Parents: Building strong relationships with families to ensure a collaborative approach to their children's learning.
- Absence Coverage: Leading and coaching in the manager's absence.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification (or higher) is essential.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader, or Senior Practitioner in a nursery setting. Level 3 Paediatrics First Aid Qualification (desirable). English GCSE grade C/4+ (if qualified after Sept 2014).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Attitude: A positive, flexible, and dedicated leader ready to take the next step in their career.
