We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Language & Literature Teacher to join our secondary school client on a long-term temporary basis, covering the absence of a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential), maintaining continuity and high standards of teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities * Teach English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum * Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons * Assess, monitor and report on student progress * Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment * Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff * Fulfil pastoral and safeguarding responsibilities in line with school policies The Ideal Candidate * Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent * Has experience teaching English at secondary level * Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English * Is adaptable, reliable and able to step into an established role smoothly * Has strong communication and organisational skills
