Supply Star Little Learners is working in partnership with an award-winning nursery chain in Shrewsbury, who are in search of Level 3 (and above) qualified Early Years Professionals to support them in continuing to deliver outstanding care and education to young children aged 0-5 years old. Level 3 Nursery Practitioners: create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met in line with the EYFS.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Activity Planning: Plan and deliver engaging activities that support developmental milestones in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Observation & Tracking: Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in their learning folders.
  • Safety & Safeguarding: Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety and safeguarding regulations.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues through effective communication.

Room Leaders: Responsible for managing a specific room, supervising a small team of practitioners, and ensuring high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervising and mentoring room practitioners, identifying training needs, and fostering a respectful team culture.
  • Educational Planning: Overseeing age-appropriate planning, observations, and assessments to track children’s progress.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintaining Ofsted standards and ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and staff-to-child ratios are met.
  • Parental Engagement: Building professional relationships with families and providing daily updates on children’s development.

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience of managing rooms (ideally minimum 1 year)

Hours of work: Full time, Monday-Friday

Requirements:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Qualification (desirable)
  • English GCSE grade C/4+ (if qualified after Sept 2014)
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and child-centred approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
