We are searching, on behalf of an award-winning nursery chain in Shrewsbury, for a Deputy Nursery Manager who is enthusiastic to support the day-to-day running of a busy and welcoming nursery. Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the team, maintain high standards of care and education, and create a safe, stimulating environment where children can thrive. Hours of work: Full time, Monday-Friday between 7.50am - 6.00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the overall management of the nursery
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding childcare and early education
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and carers
  • Monitor children’s development and support high-quality learning experiences
  • Assist with staff supervision, training, and recruitment
  • Help maintain compliance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the manager’s absence

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience in a senior nursery role
  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Qualification (desirable)
  • English GCSE grade C/4+ (if qualified after Sept 2014)
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and child-centred approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
