We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT Technician to join our client's successful Design & Technology department. The ideal candidate will support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Food Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons
- Support teachers during practical sessions and provide technical guidance to students
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained safely and in accordance with regulations
- Manage stock levels, order resources, and keep the prep areas well-organised
- Produce prototypes, demonstration models, and teaching aids as required
- Promote and maintain high health & safety standards throughout the department
- Support whole-school events, extracurricular activities, and project work where needed
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Practical experience with workshop machinery and tools (e.g., saws, sanders, 3D printers, laser cutters)
- A good understanding of health & safety in a workshop/school environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach
- Good communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team
- (Desirable) A relevant qualification or experience in DT, engineering, or a related technical field
- (Desirable) Experience working in education, though full training can be provided
