Supply Star Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEND school in Nuneaton who support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The Role
We are looking for dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistants to join the school’s multidisciplinary team. You will provide high-quality support for pupils with complex learning, communication, sensory, and physical needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their EHCP outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with ASD, SLD, and PMLD in the classroom and other learning environments
- Implement personalised learning and communication strategies, including AAC, Makaton, PECS, and sensory approaches
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs
- Support engagement, behaviour, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Contribute to progress monitoring and EHCP targets
Person Specification
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, ASD, SLD, or PMLD
- Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to undertake training in specialist SEND approaches
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
