Part-Time Functional Skills Maths & English Tutor
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and supportive Functional Skills Maths and English Tutor to join on a part-time basis. You will deliver engaging, learner-focused sessions to support students in achieving their Functional Skills qualifications and developing confidence in essential numeracy and literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills Maths and English lessons (Entry Level to Level 2)
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Prepare learners for assessments and exams
- Maintain accurate records in line with organisational requirements
- Provide a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3/4 Award in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards one
- Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
- Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths and/or English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and engage learners with varying abilities
Desirable
- Experience working with learners with additional needs
- Assessing qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent)
- Experience delivering online or blended learning
