We are working in partnership with a small specialist SEND school to recruit an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher. Class sizes consist of 3-6 students with extensive Teaching Assistant support. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to inclusive education and has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential. The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, speech and language needs, and associated learning challenges. The successful candidate will join a dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team within a well-resourced specialist setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual learning needs.
- Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that supports learning and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews.
- Use effective behaviour support strategies and communication approaches appropriate to SEND learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within a SEND setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and additional learning needs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
