Supply Staff Ltd is recruiting Support Workers to work with young people who display highly challenging behaviour and require dedicated, compassionate care. This role is rewarding but demanding. You’ll need resilience, commitment, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. About the Role As a Support Worker with Supply Staff Ltd, you’ll provide care and guidance to young people in various settings. Your duties may include: * Supporting young people in family homes, helping to create a stable and positive environment. * Delivering community-based support to help young people engage with education, employment, or activities. * Assisting with 24/7 wrap-around care, ensuring consistent and reliable support during times of crisis. * Working flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekdays, and weekends, with both short and long hours available. This variety of work ensures every day is different and provides opportunities to make a meaningful impact. What You’ll Need We’re looking for individuals who possess the following skills: * Communication: Speak and listen effectively to build trust with young people and collaborate with colleagues. * Patience: Bring a calm and understanding approach to challenging situations. * Empathy: Relate to young people from all backgrounds with compassion and respect. * Organisation: Write clear reports, update records, and manage basic IT tasks with confidence. * Reliability: Vulnerable young people rely on you to be dependable and consistent. * Resilience: Stay composed and bounce back quickly from demanding circumstances. Essential Qualifications and Experience * A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the UK working with Looked After Children, particularly those of secondary school age. * An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential). * The right to work in the UK. * A valid DBS check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one. * The ability to provide references covering the last 3 years, including at least two professional references. * A comprehensive CV accounting for any gaps of over one month in employment since leaving school. * If you’ve lived or worked overseas for more than six months in the last ten years (aged 18+), you’ll need an overseas police check.
