Supply Staff Ltd is recruiting experienced SEND Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 Maths and English tuition to children and young people across Somerset. We have multiple opportunities supporting learners who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to special educational needs, anxiety, SEMH difficulties or other barriers to learning.
The Role:
- Deliver 1:1 Maths and English tuition tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support pupils from KS2 through to GCSE and Functional Skills.
- Work with learners who have SEMH, autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other SEND needs.
- Build positive relationships and help young people regain confidence in education.
- Adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
- Deliver tuition in person, with some online opportunities available.
Requirements:
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND.
- Strong Maths and/or English subject knowledge.
- QTS or PGCE desirable, although experienced non-QTS tutors are also encouraged to apply.
- Patient, adaptable and confident supporting learners outside mainstream settings.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to travel to local placements for face-to-face opportunities.
