We are currently building a network of experienced Severe SEN Tutors to support students with complex additional needs through personalised face-to-face tuition. This role is ideal for compassionate and resilient individuals experienced in supporting students with severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and behavioural challenges.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver highly personalised one-to-one support sessions
- Support students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, SLD, and complex SEN needs
- Work in line with EHCP targets and specialist strategies
- Adapt teaching methods and communication approaches to individual needs
- Support emotional regulation, engagement, and confidence-building
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Deliver sessions within students’ homes or community settings
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN
- Experience working with EHCPs
- Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Comfortable working independently in home environments
- DBS registered on the Update Service
- Flexible daytime availability
- Minimum commitment of 10 hours weekly
Desirable Qualifications
- PGCE and/or QTS
- Team Teach, MAPA, or behaviour support training
- SEN specialist qualifications
- Experience in specialist schools or alternative provision settings
