Job Overview

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced and caring Nursery Teaching Assistants to work across nursery and Early Years settings in Somerset.

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will support young children with their learning, development and day to day activities, helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

Experience supporting children with SEN would be ideal, although this is not the main focus of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children with learning, play and creative activities.
  • Encourage communication, language development and early learning skills.
  • Support children's social interaction, confidence and independence.
  • Provide additional support to children with SEN and additional needs where required.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating nursery environment.
  • Work alongside teachers, nursery practitioners and other staff to support children's development.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Nursery Teaching Assistant or within a relevant Early Years setting is required.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs would be ideal.
  • Good understanding of Early Years learning and child development.
  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
