Child Protection Advisors (CPAs) provide offline scrutiny of arrangements for children in need of care and protection. They serve as lead responsibility for children on child protection plans and contextual safeguarding child in need plans, covering service demands and needs of children and families.
CPAs provide a quality service that incorporates the rights of children, their views, wishes and feelings, while working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals. They develop and implement Quality Assurance Systems for the Department and undertake regular audits.
Additionally, CPAs chair child protection conferences and contextual safeguarding child in need meetings, providing consultation and expert advice on safeguarding issues to social work professionals and multi-agency partners. Reviews and conferences are not offered on a virtual basis; therefore the successful applicant must be able to travel to Haringey.
