We are currently expanding our network of experienced ESOL Tutors to support children and young people through personalised one-to-one tuition. We are looking for patient, engaging, and adaptable tutors for upcoming face-to-face opportunities across the local area.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one ESOL tuition tailored to individual learning needs and language abilities
- Support students in developing English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
- Adapt teaching approaches and resources to suit students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Build confidence and encourage communication skills in a supportive learning environment
- Support students with additional learning needs where required
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Monitor progress and provide feedback where necessary
- Deliver face-to-face tuition within students’ homes or community settings
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ teaching, tutoring, or ESOL support experience
- Strong understanding of English language development and communication support
- Experience working with children or young people from diverse backgrounds
- Comfortable working independently in face-to-face settings
- DBS registered on the Update Service
- Flexible daytime availability preferred
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week
Desirable Qualifications
- PGCE and/or QTS
- ESOL, TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or related qualifications
- SEN experience or experience supporting students with EHCPs
- Ability to support English and Maths at functional or GCSE level
