Job Overview
Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools, nurseries and Early Years settings in Somerset.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will support young children with their learning and development through classroom and play-based activities, helping them develop their communication, confidence, social skills and independence.
Experience supporting children with SEN would be ideal, although this is not the main focus of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with learning, play and creative activities.
- Encourage communication, language development, phonics and early learning skills.
- Support children's social interaction, confidence and independence.
- Provide additional support to children with SEN and additional needs where required.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Work alongside teachers, Early Years practitioners and other staff to support children's development.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant or within a relevant Early Years setting is required.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs would be ideal.
- Strong understanding of Early Years learning and child development.
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
