Property Surveyor - Westminster City Council Supply Staff are currently recruiting for an experienced Property Surveyor to join Westminster City Council on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work within the Housing Services team, supporting the delivery of property surveying, repairs, maintenance and investment programmes across the Council's housing stock. The role will involve carrying out property inspections, identifying defects and remedial works, supporting planned and reactive maintenance, overseeing contractors and ensuring works are delivered to the required quality and technical standards. Key responsibilities: Carry out pre and post inspections of residential properties and communal areas. Diagnose building defects and identify appropriate remedial works. Specify repair and maintenance works and monitor delivery. Support planned, cyclical and reactive maintenance programmes. Work closely with contractors and internal housing teams. Monitor workmanship, quality, costs and contractor performance. Manage variations, payments and works in progress. Support the investigation and resolution of complaints, disrepair cases and property-related issues. Identify investment and maintenance requirements across the housing stock. Ensure works are delivered in line with relevant health & safety and technical requirements.About you: Previous experience working as a Property Surveyor, Building Surveyor or similar role. Strong experience within residential housing, repairs or maintenance. Experience diagnosing building defects and specifying remedial works. Experience carrying out property inspections and quality checks. Good understanding of housing repairs and maintenance contracts. Experience working with contractors and monitoring performance. Strong communication and report-writing skills.
