Opportunities include short-notice bookings when schools experience staff absences, making this ideal for candidates who can be flexible and available to work at short notice. You will supervise pupils and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the usual teaching staff. All lesson planning and marking will be provided, allowing you to focus on supervising pupils, supporting learning and maintaining positive classroom behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day cover for absent school staff, including short-notice bookings.
* Supervise pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and follow the instructions provided by teaching staff.
* Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work set.
* Maintain positive behaviour and effective classroom management.
* Report concerns or incidents to the appropriate school staff.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supervising children in a school or educational setting.
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
* Confidence leading a classroom and maintaining clear expectations.
* Availability for day-to-day supply and short-notice bookings.
* A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply.
* Full compliance with standard UK school safeguarding regulations.
