Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: Β£95 - Β£110 per day
Job Overview:
Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Somerset. As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, develop independence and build positive relationships within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEN and additional needs.
* Support pupils to access and engage with classroom learning.
* Assist with individual learning activities and differentiated work.
* Support communication, social development, confidence and independence.
* Help manage behaviour using appropriate strategies and school guidance.
* Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
* Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support individual pupil needs.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting is required.
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
* Good understanding of individual learning needs and appropriate support strategies.
* Patient, calm and consistent approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Able to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
* Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
