A welcoming primary school in Leicester is looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be supporting a Year 1 pupil throughout the school day, both within the classroom and during break and lunchtime periods when required. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Immediate start
  • Ongoing until July 2026
  • Supporting a Year 1 pupil on a 1:1 basis
  • Assisting within the classroom to support learning and engagement
  • Supporting the pupil during breaktimes and transitions where required
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
  • Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Hold a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
