We are looking for a caring, experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the LE4 area of Leicester, working within an SEN class.
Please note: Previous PEG feeding experience and appropriate PEG feeding training are essential for this role.
Candidates must be confident and competent in supporting pupils with PEG feeding and following individual care plans and medical procedures.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can provide both educational and personal care support in a calm and professional manner.
The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your responsibilities may include
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Supporting pupils with complex medical and care needs
- Supporting PEG feeding as required
- Following individual care plans and school procedures
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other members of staff
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/complex needs
- Previous PEG feeding experience
- Current PEG feeding training, or relevant recognised training
- A caring, patient and nurturing approach
- Ability to follow care plans and medical procedures accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills
