Supply Hive Wales are working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the CF11 area of Cardiff who are seeking a dedicated Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant for a full-time maternity cover position. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and wants to play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the Foundation Phase.

Responsibilities

  • Full-time, term-time only
  • 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
  • Working across Reception & Year 1
  • Leading small-group activities and supporting whole-class routines
  • Providing pastoral care and helping children settle, engage, and thrive
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience working with young children (school or childcare setting)
  • Confident supporting early years learning & Foundation Phase pedagogy
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
