Supply Hive is supporting a welcoming and supportive primary school in Slough that is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within its Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), starting in September 2026. This role is based in a dedicated specialist setting within the school, supporting pupils with complex additional needs. You will play a vital role in creating a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children are supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Providing targeted, individualized support to pupils within the Specialist Resource Provision, using a range of strategies to promote communication, engagement, and learning.
- Supporting the delivery of personalised learning programmes and behaviour plans, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive social interaction through structured routines and tailored activities.
- Supporting emotional well-being and sensory regulation, helping pupils to remain calm, focused, and ready to learn.
- Working collaboratively with specialist staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent and high-quality support.
- Monitoring progress and recording observations, contributing to reviews and sharing feedback to help inform next steps in learning.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and approachable nature with strong communication skills.
- A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to individual needs.
- A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
