A welcoming and supportive school in Reading is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning support
- Helping pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech & language, and SEMH
- Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in the classroom
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications or training are beneficial but not essential
