Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Cardiff
Pay: £93–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday–Friday

We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Cardiff who are looking for a fantastic Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 classroom.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, building positive relationships with children and being part of a supportive school team.
The Role
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to support their learning and development.
- Help children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Provide encouragement and reassurance to pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1.
- Support with classroom activities, phonics, reading, writing and practical learning.
- Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
The Ideal CandidateWe’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient and genuinely passionate about working with children.
- Confident supporting children across a range of abilities.
- Proactive and happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
- A strong communicator with a positive attitude.
- Reliable, consistent and committed to making a difference.
- Experienced working within a primary school or with children.
