Supply Hive Wales is working in partnership with a fantastic specialist school in Cardiff, and we’re looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young people who require additional support. Whether you have previous experience in a SEN setting or a genuine interest in this area of education, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with ALN (Additional Learning Needs), including Autism, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties
- Working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and reach their full potential
- Managing behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Building strong, positive relationships with students and staff
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEN or care setting
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Able to use initiative and work well as part of a team
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of learners
- A current Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one)
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Manual Handling, ALN awareness) are desirable but not essential
