We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Grangetown, Cardiff, who are looking to appoint a full‑time Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a positive attitude and a passion for supporting young learners during the early stages of their education.

- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

- Contract: Initially temporary with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the classroom, helping to deliver engaging activities and create a nurturing learning environment. You will provide general classroom support and help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
The school is looking for someone who is:
- Confident and able to build positive relationships with children
- Bubbly, enthusiastic and energetic in their approach
- Passionate about supporting children in Early Years
- Flexible and proactive within the classroom environment
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
This role will begin on a temporary basis from September, with the school keen to identify someone who can become a long‑term member of the team. There is the potential for a permanent contract to be offered to the right candidate following a successful placement. You will also be required to work a handover period in July.
