A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Birmingham, rated Good by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child within their Reception class on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young child's educational journey while working within a supportive and positive school environment.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a Reception-aged child with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively in school life. The child is a happy and engaging pupil who is currently non-verbal. They can occasionally become very active, including running off or attempting to climb; therefore, the successful candidate will need to be energetic, vigilant and confident in supporting a child who requires close supervision. The child is not physical and responds well to positive support and encouragement.
As Albanian is the child’s home language and they understand some Albanian, the school would particularly welcome applications from candidates who speak Albanian.
