Date: September 2026 We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected Ofsted-rated Good Primary School in Birmingham that is seeking an experienced School Office Manager to join their dedicated administrative team from the start of the new academic year in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and professional Office Manager who enjoys working within a busy school environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding administrative support to pupils, staff, parents and visitors.

The Role As the School Office Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school office, ensuring efficient administration and providing a warm and professional front-of-house service.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily operation of the school office.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies.
  • Managing pupil admissions, attendance and student records.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data using school management systems.
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks and reporting.
  • Managing communications, correspondence and school documentation.
  • Coordinating office staff and ensuring effective office procedures are followed.
  • Overseeing safeguarding and compliance administration.
  • Supporting school events, meetings and wider administrative functions. Candidate Requirements Essential
  • Previous experience working as a School Office Manager or Senior School Administrator.
  • Experience working within a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Experience using Arbor Management Information System (MIS).
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR requirements within education.
  • Professional, approachable and customer-focused manner. Desirable
  • Experience managing attendance, admissions and pupil data.
  • Previous involvement in school census returns.
  • Knowledge of school finance and budget administration.
