The successful candidate will work closely with the Reception Class Teacher to support pupils during this crucial stage of their learning and development.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting children's learning through play-based and structured activities.
  • Assisting with the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Helping children develop their communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
  • Working with individuals, small groups and the whole class.
  • Preparing classroom resources and supporting learning activities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Contributing to observations and assessments where required.
  • Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.

  • Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Reception or Early Years setting.
  • Has a good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Is caring, patient and enthusiastic.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Is proactive, flexible and able to use their initiative.
  • Is passionate about supporting children during the early stages of their education.
  • Can commit to a full-time role for the entire academic year.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous Reception Class or EYFS Teaching Assistant experience.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early learning.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two satisfactory professional references.
