Are you an experienced Higher Education Tutor with a passion for developing the next generation of Health and Social Care professionals?

A well-established Birmingham college is seeking two dedicated Tutors to deliver the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health and Social Care (Levels 4 & 5).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidates.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the Pearson HND Health and Social Care programme, supporting learners to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Whilst teaching delivery is scheduled to commence in September 2026, the successful candidates will be required to start as soon as possible to undertake essential preparation work, including curriculum planning, resource development, course preparation and programme organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Level 4 and Level 5 Health and Social Care modules.
  • Plan, prepare and develop high-quality learning resources.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback in line with Pearson requirements.
  • Support student progress, retention and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in programme development, standardisation and team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body and college policies.

Requirements

Applicants must possess either

  • A recognised Higher Education teaching qualification, such as PGCert HE, FHEA or equivalent,
  • A Master's Degree (MSc or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.

Ideal candidates will also have

  • Previous experience teaching within Higher Education, Further Education or Adult Learning.
  • Experience delivering Pearson HND programmes or similar higher-level qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Social Care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A passion for education and learner success.
