We are recruiting on behalf of a successful Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Birmingham for a dedicated and highly organised Head of Year. This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will provide outstanding pastoral leadership to a designated year group, ensuring students are supported academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with staff, families and external agencies, you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and achievement, while helping students overcome barriers to success.

The Role:

  • As Head of Year, you will take responsibility for the pastoral leadership of a designated year group and lead a team of tutors to ensure every student receives the support and guidance they need to succeed.
  • This is a varied and rewarding role, requiring excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • You will work collaboratively with school leaders, teaching staff, safeguarding teams, parents and external agencies to create a positive, inclusive and aspirational culture.
