Supply Heroes is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in the Harborne area. The school is known for its supportive leadership team, positive learning environment, and strong commitment to early years education. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a friendly and collaborative team. The role will begin on a full-time basis, providing continuity and support to the class, before transitioning to three days per week (Monday to Wednesday) after the initial three-week period.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Reception lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
- Taking full responsibility for classroom teaching, learning, and behaviour management
- Assessing and monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers
- Ensuring safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
- Previous experience teaching within Reception or Early Years
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons independently
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to teaching
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
