We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Edgbaston (B16) area for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a supportive school environment, with the possibility of the role continuing into September 2026 on a temp-to-perm basis for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons within Key Stage 2, supporting pupils’ academic and personal development while maintaining high expectations in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Supporting pupils’ progress and preparing children for end of Key Stage 2 expectations
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents and senior leaders

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A positive, proactive and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
