About the Role

We are looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Birmingham. This is a 1:1 support role, working closely with a male student to help him access learning and develop confidence in the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school environment. The role has strong potential to become long term or even permanent for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student across lessons and throughout the school day
  • Help the student stay engaged, focused, and included in learning activities
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support the student’s needs
  • Adapt learning materials where needed to support understanding
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting
  • A patient, calm, and understanding approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
