Chemistry KS5 Teacher (Sixth Form) in Birmingham

Are you an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to teach motivated Sixth Form students? We are currently seeking a dedicated Chemistry KS5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school with a thriving Sixth Form in Perry Barr, Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term position starting at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2026, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are welcome also.

• Teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5 within a successful Sixth Form setting
• Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and high-quality A-Level Chemistry lessons
• Preparing students for examinations and supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes
• Delivering practical and theoretical elements of the Chemistry curriculum
• Monitoring, assessing and tracking student progress effectively
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within a successful Science department

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching Chemistry within a secondary school setting
• Has the ability and confidence to teach Chemistry at KS5
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for science education
• Possesses strong classroom management and communication skills
• Is committed to raising attainment and supporting student achievement
• Has a positive and proactive approach to teaching and learning
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
