Supply Heroes are looking for a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Teacher to work with a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Bedworth, Coventry, as they prepare to open a brand-new SEND provision in September 2026. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in launching a brand-new Specialist Resource Provision designed to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will help establish the provision, create a nurturing and structured learning environment, and work closely with the school leadership team to ensure the SRP is fully operational and ready to support pupils from the start of the academic year. Initially, the SRP will support four pupils, with the capacity to grow to eight pupils over time. The teacher will be supported by a dedicated SRP Teaching Assistant. This position is available on a supply basis for the Autumn Term 2026, with the opportunity to apply for the permanent role when it is re-advertised for a January 2027 start.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and development of the new Specialist Resource Provision.
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
- Work closely with the SRP Teaching Assistant and wider school staff.
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Foster a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise with parents, SENCOs and external professionals where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Significant experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with complex needs.
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated planning.
- Experience in creating structured, calm and engaging learning environments.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and the ability to plan and deliver provision tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive and organised approach to setting up and developing a new provision.
- A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
