Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Henley-on-Thames area to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 expectations, who is dedicated to helping pupils build on their prior learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Year 4 lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
  • Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and SPaG
  • Consolidate prior learning while preparing pupils for upper KS2 expectations
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
  • Support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
  • Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and resilience
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 or Lower KS2
  • Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work full-time in the Henley-on-Thames (RG) area from September

Desirable

  • Previous experience teaching Year 4
  • Strong understanding of progression within KS2
  • Experience using assessment data to track and accelerate pupil progress
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
