A highly regarded primary school in Buckingham is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their vibrant, inclusive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive, student-centered environment, supporting children with a wide range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other specific learning difficulties.
You will provide essential support to enable students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage with their learning.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement and adapt individualised learning plans (ILPs), ensuring each student receives the appropriate support for their unique needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment, where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the varied needs of students, ensuring they are fully supported in their academic journey.
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback to teaching staff, and contribute to the ongoing development of each student's learning plan.
- Assist in the management of classroom behaviour, supporting a calm and productive learning environment.
- Support emotional and social development through targeted interventions and activities tailored to individual needs.
Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs, particularly in an educational setting (preferred).
A strong understanding of autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges and the ability to support students with a range of needs.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A compassionate and patient approach to learning, with a focus on empowering students to reach their full potential.
Proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
