Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Uxbridge area to appoint a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a KS2 Class Teacher position. This role is exclusively for ECTs and offers an excellent opportunity to begin your teaching career in a nurturing environment, with a strong focus on mentoring, professional development, and career progression.
As a KS2 Class Teacher, you will support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, helping them build confidence and independence as they progress through Key Stage 2. You will benefit from a comprehensive ECT induction programme, including ongoing support from experienced teachers and senior leaders.
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
- Support learning and progression in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths)
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, using feedback to inform future teaching
- Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN
- Encourage resilience, independence, and a love of learning
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Currently completing or recently completed teacher training (working towards or achieved QTS) with a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum developed through placements. A positive, reflective, and enthusiastic approach to teaching is essential, along with good classroom management skills appropriate for an ECT level, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to commit to a full-time role in Uxbridge from September.
KS2 placement experience (Upper or Lower KS2) is preferred, along with awareness of assessment and pupil progress tracking, and understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN). Commitment to continuous professional development is required.
