Supply Desk is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Uxbridge area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing school environment. This role would suit an engaging and reliable individual who enjoys working with children and is committed to helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the classroom
  • Assist pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Help to deliver engaging and structured lessons
  • Support children with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Assist with classroom preparation and resource management
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
  • Availability to work full-time in the Iver area (ASAP or from September)
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and school procedures
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
