Teaching Assistant – Winchester Area Primary School

Location: Village school near Winchester

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)

Pay: £82 – £90 per day Start Date: September 2025

A well-regarded two-form entry primary school on the outskirts of Winchester is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support children in Key Stage 2. This is a full-time role starting in September, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

About the School:

Set in a village location just outside Winchester, the school is known for its calm atmosphere and strong sense of community. Pupils are cheerful, well-behaved, and eager to learn. Staff work closely together to create a supportive environment where children are encouraged to do their best.

The Role:

You’ll be working mainly with KS2 pupils, supporting learning in the classroom and occasionally working with small groups or individual children who may need extra help. Some of these pupils may have additional needs such as ASC, ADHD or SEMH.

What We’re Looking For We’re keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have experience working in a school or with children
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2 – desirable but not essential)
  • Are confident working as part of a team
  • Can build positive working relationships with pupils and staff
  • Are calm, reliable and able to adapt to the needs of the children

Responsibilities:

  • Support learning in KS2 classrooms
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs
  • Help promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Assist with planning and delivering small group activities
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school
