About the Role
We are seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant who has experience with those with Autism, SEMH, and ADHD to join a small school in the New Forest area. This rewarding role involves supporting a student with additional needs, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. The role will be starting from January 2026 with the school looking to make the position permanent for the right person.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a young student with additional needs
- Be able to adapt activities and resources to meet personalised needs
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting young pupils with additional needs
- Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, and associated learning/behavioural needs
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting infant children
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices
- Enhanced DBS check (support available if required)
