Supply Desk is seeking an excellent and inspirational primary teacher to take on an exciting Teaching & Learning Coach and Mentor role within a forward-thinking Southampton school.
This is a unique non-class-based middle leadership position for a teacher who is passionate about developing colleagues, strengthening classroom practice and improving outcomes for pupils. You will work closely with teachers across Key Stage 2, modelling excellent teaching, providing coaching and mentoring, and helping to develop a strong culture of continuous professional improvement.
The successful candidate will be visible, approachable and confident working alongside colleagues in classrooms. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to develop their leadership profile and have a genuine whole-school impact.
- Lead by example by modelling high-quality teaching and excellent classroom management
- Coach and mentor teachers across the school to strengthen classroom practice
- Develop a positive coaching culture focused on continuous improvement
- Plan and deliver high-quality CPD and professional development sessions
- Provide constructive feedback and practical support to colleagues
- Support curriculum review and development across Key Stage 2
- Use assessment and pupil progress data to identify areas for improvement
- Mentor and support Early Career Teachers
- Support teachers with lesson planning and sequences of learning
- Contribute to whole-school development and improvement priorities
- Support the implementation of school policies and initiatives
- Help translate school priorities into effective day-to-day classroom practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining high professional standards
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Successful experience teaching within a primary school
- Strong classroom practice and excellent behaviour management skills
- Excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Experience or a strong interest in coaching and mentoring colleagues
- Ability to provide constructive and supportive feedback
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong, professional relationships with colleagues
- Confident using assessment and data to improve pupil outcomes
- Positive, resilient and approachable leadership style
- High expectations of yourself and others
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusive education
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
