About the Role
Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Marine Engineering / Engineering Lecturer to provide temporary cover at a well-established college campus in the New Forest.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional or lecturer to deliver both classroom and practical workshop-based teaching to students studying Marine Technology and Level 2 Engineering programmes.
The role is expected to continue until around November/December 2026, although the duration may be shorter or extended depending on requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Level 2 Engineering and Marine Technology sessions.
- Teach across both classroom and practical workshop environments.
- Support students working towards their engineering qualifications.
- Prepare learners for practical assessments.
- Adapt schemes of work to meet learner and curriculum requirements.
- Develop engaging learning resources and activities.
- Assess and monitor student progress.
- Complete planning, preparation, assessment and marking associated with the role.
- Maintain a safe, professional and engaging workshop environment.
- Candidate Requirements
- Experience delivering Level 2 Engineering qualifications.
- Experience of the Performing Engineering Operations (PEO/NVQ) qualification would be highly desirable.
- Strong practical workshop and classroom teaching experience.
- Confident managing and supporting classes of approximately 20 students.
- Good understanding of Marine Engineering / Marine Technology.
- Ability to adapt schemes of work and create appropriate learning resources.
- Experience preparing students for practical assessments.
- Familiarity with CANVAS or MOODLE would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
