Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school within their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP), where you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs to achieve their full academic, social, and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within the ARP.
- Create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans, adapting teaching strategies to support a range of additional needs.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to ensure pupils receive high-quality, targeted support.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
- Use a range of effective behaviour management and communication strategies to support pupils with complex learning needs.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, using assessment data to inform planning and next steps.
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil development and achieve positive outcomes.
- Promote inclusion by supporting pupils to access mainstream opportunities where appropriate.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Experience creating and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs.
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Confidence in working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support pupil progress.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
