Supply Desk is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Slough area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing school environment.

The Role

  • As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the classroom, providing both group and one-to-one support to pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
  • Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping to deliver engaging and structured lessons
  • Supporting children with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and resource management
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in learning
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
  • Availability to work full-time in the Iver area (ASAP or from September)

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and school procedures
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
