A welcoming, high achieving Secondary school in the New Forest area is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs throughout KS3 and 4. The school supports children with SEMH needs by following a specialist curriculum within an Additional Needs Provision, in which you would have training and support to deliver key activities to those children who need some extra support.

The Role:

  • Provide group support for those children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Facilitate access to the curriculum through tailored communication strategies

  • Be willing to go the extra mile and support children at lunch and break times too
  • Encourage all pupils to be curious, inclusive and supportive of similarities and differences
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent, effective support
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils
