SEND Teaching Assistant Watford

We are supporting a warm, inclusive school in Watford that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a real difference to pupils with additional needs.
This is a rewarding role supporting children with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The school has a strong pastoral ethos, a supportive SEN team, and places a real emphasis on understanding each child as an individual.
The role will involve:
- Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEND
- Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Implementing strategies set out in EHCPs and individual support plans
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Helping to create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEND (education, care, or youth work)
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
